The Program Flowchart depicts the Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses we offer within the Engineering career cluster. If students are interested in this career clusters, it is important that they review the available Programs of Study, and select the one that best matches their college and/or career goals. After the first course, students will need to decide whether they are interested in continuing. If so, the student is encouraged to become a Program of Study completer by obtaining three or more courses for four or more credits within their selected POS, including one advanced-level course. The advanced-level courses are identified by a red circle on the top-left corner of each course. It is also important to note that some courses may have a specific prerequisite course requirement, which can be seen in the Course Descriptions section below.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) engaged members of the workforce, secondary education, and higher education to advise on the development of the Programs of Study (POS), including coherent sequences of courses, industry-based certifications, and work-based learning to ensure students are prepared for in-demand, high-skill, and high-wage careers in Texas. Students are encouraged to select the Program of Study that best matches their college and/or career goals. In order to be classified as a POS "completer", students need to complete three or more courses for four or more credits within their selected POS, including one advanced-level course.
