Active Shooter Trainings



Sharyland ISD holds Professional Development Session on responding to active shooters and trespassers on campus. Deputy Rick Garcia with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department
led these training sessions for all district campuses and central administration.



Deputy Rick Garcia from the Hidalgo Sheriff’s Department donated old fire hoses to Sharyland ISD for a new purpose – school security. The fire hoses will be cut into small sections to be used to barricade doors in the event of an active shooter. 
All Sharyland ISD staff has been trained by Deputy Rick Garcia on responding to active shooters and trespassers on campus.
