Ricky Longoria attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received his BBA in accounting in 1987. He received his C.P.A. certificate in 1989. He began his professional career as a member of the audit staff of Ernst & Young.
He subsequently joined the firm of Grant Thornton and where he was promoted to audit manager of the McAllen, Texas office. He was ultimately promoted to Audit Partner in 1997 to Burton McCumber & Cortez, LLP; the successor firm to Grant Thornton. Burton McCumber & Cortez, LLP is a regional accounting firm with four office locations that employs 120 personnel. As a partner of the Firm, he is responsible for the direct supervision of the planning, coordination, control and review of the audits to ensure the quality of the service to the Firm’s clients.
He has a broad background of audit experience which includes the manufacturing, distribution, financial institution and governmental industries. He is a member of a variety of professional organizations including the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Ricky was a member of the Board of Directors of the Border Trade Alliance, Costal Conservation Association and McAllen Chamber of Commerce. He has four children all which attend Sharyland Schools. |
