Chartering Excellence:
Dynamic Strategic Vision
The Sharyland ISD Strategic Plan 2024-2028, initiated by former Superintendent Dr. Maria M. Vidaurri in collaboration with the Moak Casey team and the Board of Trustees, reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and exceptional service to our students, families, and community.
Now under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Elaine Howard, the Tactical Team, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and Board of Trustees are finalizing and refining our long-term strategic objectives and progress measures. Upon completion, the Tactical Team will seek final approval for the 2024-2025 school year.
Sharyland ISD, with over a century of educational excellence, serves nearly 10,000 students across 14 campuses, supported by more than 1,400 dedicated employees. From our rural roots, we’ve grown into a premier educational institution recognized statewide.
Our 2024-2028 Strategic Plan is a crucial step forward, enhancing instructional and operational systems to ensure student success now and in the future. This plan is our guide, aligning our daily efforts with our mission to provide equitable, enriching education for all students.
Following months of thorough review and collaboration with district leaders, educators, and community members, our plan has been shaped by identifying strengths and areas for growth. It lays the groundwork for continued success.
Despite challenges such as declining enrollment and aging facilities, we remain committed to delivering rigorous instruction, fostering community partnerships, and supporting our staff. Our Strategic Plan, embodying our vision of "Excellence is our Tradition," is a shared roadmap to inspire, educate, and empower every student to become leaders of the highest moral character. With the support of our Board, Superintendent, and stakeholders, we are ready to uphold our tradition of excellence and ensure every student thrives in a dynamic, safe learning environment.
